What are some pieces for the end of the world?

I'm looking for classical music that could depict the world after the apocalypse. Are there any pieces that come to mind? (I'm looking for both quiet and loud pieces. Also, I prefer orchestral or piano music.)

There is a composition called "Quartet for the End of Time" by Olivier Messianen. It was written when the composer was a prisoner of war during WW II.

I've sometimes felt that Neptune from the Planets took place after the end of the world as souls drifted outward through endless space. It helps if it's late at night and it's dark and quiet as you listen to it.

The obvious choice would be the Requiem for a Dream theme, which is quite dramatic. If you want something more calm, maybe listen to some Ludovico Einaudi. My personal suggestions would be "Fuori Dal Mondo", "Dietro Casa" and "Divenire"

After the end of the world, I would think there is no more music.

... certainly no one to play it.
