Paradoxical appears to be false but may (or may not) be true.

Example, "Standing is more tiring than walking". It looks false but you can walk for an hour - then try to stand in one place for an hour. Paradoxical refers to one statement or more.

Contradictory - This is two or more statements which cannot both be correct. Example, "My hair is 100% red" and "My hair is 100% black". Those are two statements that cannot both be true.

    It's not really that subtle.
