Can I use my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S smartphone with my 2007 Mercedes E350?

I was told that I needed a "puck" device which I think is an adaptor that plugs into the center console of my recently purchased E350. This, apparently, will allow my phone to run through the hands-free telephone system in the car. My dealer says this "puck" thingy costs $600!!! Now, if this was a one-shot purchase I could POSSIBLY deal with it. But when you consider a phone upgrade every two years or so will result in a possibly different phone model with a different connector that will need a new $600 "puck" thingabob, I think "FORGET THIS" (as Ce Lo, would say). Am I missing something? Am I misunderstanding something? I know I am just a girl who isn't that much into cars, but I just want to use my freakin' phone as safely as possible! HELP!!!!

Thanks.

Love,

Anna

Update:

I guess my REAL question for you is, "Is there a better, more affordable method of hooking up my smartphone to my car without having to pay $600 for a 'puck' whatchamacallit every time I change phones?" Thanks.

Love,

Anna

Get the bluetooth puck. It will work with most bluetooth phones, which covers virtually all smart phones. Then, before buying a new phone, test the demo unit with your Benz or be sure that you have a free return window so that you can return it if it does not work to your expectations.
