Are the people in Butte La Rose, LA being compensated for having their homes flooded?

Update:

BTW, this isn't just an act of God. The Army Corps of Engineers plans to flood Butte La Rose in order to prevent the flooding of other cities.

While in economical terms it seems to make sense (less material damages), that would just be unfair for the people of BLR.

I certainly hope so. Unfortunately, though I fear there will be thousands in property damage, miles and miles of red tape involved getting compensation, and in the end some will be overcompensated and others won't be compensated at all.

    we dont know.

If they have flood insurance then there is a likelihood of some payment

Otherwise, they call this an "act of god"

I doubt it; I understand flood insurance is VERY expensive, if available at all.
