What are some good RECENT anime (last two or so years)?

None longer than twenty-five episodes (preferably in the 13-20 range). This season I'm watching C, AnoHana, Steins;Gate, X-Men (god I wish this was better), and TWGOK II. I don't really care the genre so long as there is a wicked plot that will keep me entertain or it's funny as hell (Like Baka Test funny). If possible, I'd like it to still be airing (so aim for Spring 2011 shows, fellow users!).

I've seen:

Tokyo Magnitude

Fullmetal (longer than my requirement, but someone will say it anyway)

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu

Hidan no Aria (saw it, dropped it.)

The World God Only Knows

Iron Man (saw it, dropped it)

Wolverine (tried to see it, dropped it)

Panty & Stocking

Also, is Chaos;Head worth watching? I heard it's by the same team as Steins;Gate.

And I'm fine with an ongoing series, so long as it's OMFG AMAZING and isn't too out there with the episode count. (don't recommend One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, or Fairy Tale. I'm reading One Piece, Bleach got repetitive, Naruto got boring)

Update:

    I think you might like

High School of the Dead - because it somewhat similar to Tokyo Magnitude its about this illness appears and people get infected gets killed by smashing their head it was really good but a bit gruesome with the pictures and the person who made it likes filming sometimes at places like boobs and underpants but other then that its good for me

Muraburho - about this world that has magic and usually people have an average of over 100 magic spells but the main character only has like 5 then these people are like "ur genes are good and will produce a powerful offspring" and then 3-4 girls pop up in his life and its like they all end up loving him and a girl harem appears btw if u uses all up his magic spells he will disappear (or turn to ashes)

    Amagami SS

Two years ago, Junichi Tachibana got his heart broken by a girl who stood him up on a date on Christmas Eve. Now a second-year student in high school, Junichi is wary of love because of his past and dislikes celebrating Christmas. However this Christmas, his encounter with one of six girls from his school and he might start liking someone again pretty good and another harem again

My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute - this one I never seen but many people told me it was good Kyosuke Kosaka, a normal 17-year-old high school student living in Chiba,[3] has not gotten along with his younger sister Kirino in years. For longer than he can remember, Kirino has ignored his comings and goings and looked at him with spurning eyes. It seemed as if the relationship between Kyōsuke and his sister, now fourteen, would continue this way forever. One day however, Kyosuke finds a DVD case of a magical girl anime which had fallen in his house's entrance way. To Kyosuke's surprise, he finds a hidden eroge (an adult game) inside the case and he soon learns that both the DVD and the game belong to Kirino. That night, Kirino brings Kyosuke to her room and reveals herself to be an otaku with an extensive collection of moe anime and younger sister-themed eroge she has been collecting in secret. Kyosuke quickly becomes Kirino's confidant for her secret hobby

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni aka When they cry

Maebara Keiichi, an ordinary high-school boy, has transferred to a new school in Hinamizawa, a small rural village. At the outset everything seems peaceful and Keiichi becomes friends with a nice group of schoolgirls with whom he spends many idle summer afternoons. Suddenly violence encroaches upon the blissful peace of the village and Keiichi becomes entangled in an endless cycle of fear and death. The inconsistent, but inevitable horrors of Hinamizawa are told and retold becoming an endless and inescapable nightmare of insanity. Will it end even if the mystery of Hinamizawa is solved?

11 Eyes- this is 2009 but it was REALLY GOOD its about the sky turning red and and monsters appear and some people are left on earth and has to survive it til the red sky ends. the character is a guy who had his only relative (sister) killed herself and he meets friends and they are suppose to try to end the red sky by going to this location

Chaos;Head is considered somewhat 'prequel' to Steins;Gate.

However, the consensus is that Steins;Gate is much better than Chaos;Head and Chaos;Head is worth skipping.

For this season, I recommend picking up Deadman Wonderland (action), Hanasaku Iroha (drama), Ao no Exorcist (action), Denpa Onna to Sheisun Otoki (slight drama with romance), A Channel (moe/comedy), and possibly Nichijou (comedy)... (in that order).

For recent past shows; Fractale (supernatural/romance)

    Yumekui Merry (supernatural/action)

    GOSICK (detective/romance/action/suspense)

Kore wa Zombie desu ka? (supernatural/action, with fanservice)

    Mahou Shoujo Magica Madoka (shoujo/action/drama)

    Shinryaku! Ika Masume (carefree/comedy/slice-of-life)

    MM! (comedy/slice-of-life)

    Fortune Arterial (supernatural/slife-of-life, with vampires)

    Bakuman (slice-of-life/reality)

    Psychice Detective Yakumo (detective/dark/suspense)

Oreimo/My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute (slice-of-life/comedy/moe-ish)

and.... if you feel so daring... Yosuga no Sora (drama/reality).

I highly recommend all of these shows.

Hope you find a couple that you like.

    I recommend Kuroshitsuji.

It's about a boy named Ciel Phantomhive; who at his most desperate moment decided to make a deal with a demon when his family was massacred. Sebastian serves as his black butler; the demon who will take Ciel's soul once he dies. Ciel orders Sebastian all kinds of tasks which the latter performs with graceful ease. Ciel's goal is to find the one responsible for his beloved family's death.
