How is human cloning viewed in judaism?

I had interest in biology specificaly cloning and stem cells since long time.

So wondering what is Jewish religious view of this research. Any specific mitzvah in the Torah which prohibits or encouages such research for benefit of mankind, save lives or sidelines it as some call tampering nature.

Do give your individual opinion.

Note: I am aware any jewish law can broken to save a life.

As far as I know of it, no objection and Israel is 100% in favor of stem cell research as well. The rabbis have addressed this many times.

And it is related to the breaking of mitzvot to save a life, though they teach no mitzvah is violated in these cases.
