Does anybody think The Dark Knight Rises will be as good as The Dark Knight?
Or will it end up like X-Men: The Last Stand and Spider-Man 3?
My personnal opinion: I think it won't live up to The Dark Knight but I think it might be more or less on par with Batman Begins but since its got Christopher Nolan, I'm pretty sure it will be pretty good.

I'm pretty excited that Nolan chose Bane of all the villains because I really liked Knightfall. I really hope he'll put in some elements from that storyline, it can make TDKR worth it

Well, I'm a bit cynical about it actually. C'mon, Anne Hathaway as Catwomen? That's some really bad casting. I don't think it will be as bad as say, Spiderman 3 but I don't think it will be as good as Dark Knight or Batman Begins. The casting is okay-ish but could be better. And people are going to go in expecting some amazing film, the villians will have to give a performance that will match Heath Ledger's Joker. I'm unsure about the whole entire thing, but hopefully it will work all out. Like you said, Christopher Nolan is directing it so I'm sure that it will be an awesome film to watch. I am actually quite excited to see this film, so hopefully this is good. I think also, they should close off the trilogy in this film, because leading up to another sequel may make it look tiresome.
Edit: Bane is a great choice, no way I'm going to deny that. But Anne Hathaway as Catwomen... can't really picture it. Christopher Nolan is a very talented guy, so hopefully he will do some character changes

Well I seriously doubt it will turn into X-Men: The Last Stand or Spider-Man 3...
I mean really think about it, Brett Ratner (director of the X-Men movies) is mostly known for directing them, and of course the Rush Hour movies. And on the other hand we have Sam Raimi is known basically just for the Evil Dead series and again the Spider-Man movies. What I am getting at here is Christopher Nolan is known for Memento, the Prestige, and Inception. Oh yeah, and the Dark Knight/Batman Begins (which I find underrated somewhat). The movies by the other directors are mainly comedic in a sense with a semi-serious tone to them. All in all, it MAY not get the critical response that The Dark Knight did, many reasons being that the outstanding performance Heath Ledger did, will no longer be present. Hopefully the characters Bane and yes, Catwoman will be portrayed with the same amount of brilliance the Joker was. I am VERY excited to see Bane and am hoping that Nolan do Bane justice in his portrayal, and not turn him into a stupid dim-witted brute that Batman and Robin did.
EDIT: I meant to say Batman Begins was underrated lol

I didn't think Heath's death made it more better. His role as the Joker was unbelievably good. I felt Batman Begin was a good movie, not great. The beginning story about how Batman became batman was great, but the plot of the scarecrow wasn't mind blowing good. The Dark Knights plot was amazing though. There was no bad character in The Dark Knight movie unlike Rachel and the Scarecrow character from the first. I think that it's going to be at least equal or better than Batman Begins, but will most likely not surpass The Dark Knight.
@At the bottom
WTF are you serious about Anne Hathaway as cat women? It's going to be like Katie Holmes as Rachel, she did the role bad. Maggie Gyllenhaal did a great job as Rachel.

It prob will be good because Batman Begins is good and The Dark Knight is amazing. I don't think it will be as good as the Dark Knight though. The Dark Knight is amazing one of the best films of that decade it's all about the Joker for me like because Heath Ledger is amazing as the Joker.
I had an argument with one of my friends about Heath Ledgers portrayal of the Joker he said that it wasn't really that hard to be the Joker he is an easy character for any actor to play. Some people might think he is an easy character to play but to play him as well as Heath Ledger did would be really hard he perfected it. He also said that Jack Nicholson's Joker is far better I think Jack Nicholson is a great actor but is Joker is awful compared to Heath Ledgers it is just ridiculously bad.
I actually had no idea who was going to be in Dark Knight Rises or what it was going to be about until I read this. Catwoman, Bane really like doesn't sound that good after i seen this on IMDB i have to say i'm a bit disappointed he has just took 2 people from Inception and put them in the Batman franchise. I hope it's good but i have doubts now. Inception is also extremely overrated some people called it one of the greatest films ever made but it's no more than average just because it is complicated doesn't mean it's amazing. People who say that clearly don't watch a lot of film classics.

Hey! The Last Stand was good, in my opinion.
I also think that The Dark Knight was a lot of hype. I mean, it's a great movie, but Heath Ledger's death just blew it out the water. It's Christopher Nolan, for goodness' sake. It'll be as good as the first two. Not to mention, Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be in this one.

Honestly, I think it could go either way.
The cast is interesting; I mean Anne Hathaway as Catwoman..it makes me wonder...
Nonetheless I'm excited for it.
