1.5gb of PC2700 or 512b of PC3200 ?
I've got an Epox 8rGA+ motherboard, which has a 1500+ Athlon on it. I have space for 3 DDR modules, and a max of 3gb
My questions is that I have 1 stick of 512mb PC3200 in my collection, or 3 sticks of 512mb PC2700. Would it be better to have 512mb of the faster memory, or am I right in thinking the much greater capacity would yield better results from the OS?

Definately 1.5GB!! the clock speed difference wouldnt be noticable even if they were both 1.5gb
Also you can mix the two speeds of ram, it will just make them all run at the slower speed.
No DDR motherboards require the ram to be in pairs.
No damage can be done by mixing different speeds of ddr ram.

if pc3200 ram is installed the pc2700 may not be compatible with the motherboard. Also you usually have to install ram in pairs on some motherboards or it will not register with your bios. pc3200 ram is expensive because it is not manufactured much anymore because of ddr2 and ddr3 ram is out for the newer systems.

1.5gb of ram,is better for speed and performance than the 1- 512mb pc 3200 and try not to mix the ram ,error in booting, restart constantly are some of the errors that will happen with mix ram, the last part of your question is right

3 sticks of 512mb will be alot better for you than just one stick of 512mb.
