Should we have a Bobby Davis tribute before R9 Games ?

In a tribute to Bobby Davis before all R9 games, wouldn't it be "fair dinkum unbelievable" to have a minutes 'APPLAUSE', rather than a minutes silence, in appreciation of the family man, Geelong fc legend, player, state rep, coach, footy analyst, and comedy entertainer .

Sorry but i have been a little undecided on this one. i really think that your idea is great. but how the AFL approach the passing of this great man of our game. is still surrounded in mystery. you would like to think that the applause,as you have suggested. would be a fitting tribute. but somehow. i don't think that's what they will have in mind.

It maybe round 9. but you can be well assured that there will be a very big tribute to Bob Davis. on grand final day. that is something that i would really expect from the AFL.

    cheers.

Yes DW, there should be a tribute on the video boards, etc of all the footy grounds in all of Australia this weekend. Not just in Victoria. No applause, a moment of silence and prayer for his family.

Something should definitely be done on Friday for the Cats game but not all 8 games. For instance Port host Freo this week, it's not in Victoria and neither team was in the competition until about 30 years after his coaching career ended so it just wouldn't mean anything to either team or its supporters. Past players constantly die and they get commemorated by their respective clubs of their playing days, IMO this should be no different, sorry.

Um...we're not sure whether we could have a Whitten Legends Game style match or even put floodlights at Kardinia Park for night games.

Yes without a doubt. something should happen and probably will. the AFL don't usually miss oppurtunities like this to commemorate their stars.
