Growing Onions - advice please?

I am growing some onions in the garden, how do these grow, is the parent onion the actual onion to grow or does the seed onion spawn other onions underground?

Also with radishes how many actual vegetables are produced from one seed?

One radish seed = one radish. Onions need to grow with 1/2 the bulb exposed above ground. You can mound wheat straw (not hay, too many weed seeds) around them when they are young. The shallot, or "bunching" onions multiply underground as well as make seeds on a mature stalk. Others it is best to get Sets rather than seed. But it is up to you.

Onions can be grown from either seed, or started with mini-bulbs that you can buy at the gardening stores. The only thing with seeds is that they take a whole season to reach a good size while if you start with the mini bulbs, you'll get mature sized ones much sooner, but remember to take off the flower stalk so that the plant puts all of its energy towards producing the bulb, and you can get softball sized onions. Here's a blog on how I grow them.

Radishes are generally 1 seed per stem, sometimes you get a double, but I generally plant them in the fall around October, they cover them up with leaves, and let them come back in the spring to get a good crop.

onions grow in firm well manured soil you can grow an onion by sowing seeds witch is the best as they don't tend to bolt and the others in sets these are small onions .what happens in an onion growth period is the onion needs to put a lot of foliage on before they start to bulb up .the foliage grows on a good onion plant about 3 foot tall and when the nights start to draw in this is the time they start to bulb up into onions ,onions grow above the grown not half in half out only they shallow rots are in the Ground

The little onion that you plant is the actual onion that you will eventually eat. Also, you will get 1 radish per seed/plant.

She's precise. decrease the potatoes in products making sure a knobby ingredient is on each and each bit and place interior the floor uncooked potato area down, knobby ingredient up, and thoroughly bury. Make rows. Onions are much extra convenient. basically placed them interior the floor with slightly of the sprout above floor. Make rows.
