What is wrong with my iPod/earbuds?

I don't know exactly what's wrong, but over the course of 2 iPods (and about 10 pairs of headphones) for some reason the RIGHT earbud ONLY will stop working. EVERY TIME. Fir no reason. It's starting to annoy me, because I just bought a pair of really nice ones and a week later they're broken. Can I fix them, and what is causing this?!

Update:

Another word; it's NOT my jack, because any other earbuds work fine. And when they do break eventually, it's always the right one. And, this has happened on more than one iPod

I hate it when that happens. I tried fixing it and nothing worked. It's like one of the wires on the inside (of the white wire covering part) snapped or something, because whenever I would bend mine a certain way at the base, near my ipod, it would work in both ears. But only for a few seconds.

I always just end up getting new earbuds :/

I would say this is a problem with the headphone jack not the earphones. I mean the hole that it's plugged into, you can replace a headphone jack look on eBay xx
