How should I partition my Hard Drive?

Well I want to partition my hard drive, here are my plans, but I do not know if this will work

1 partition for games, applications (exe) - Adobe Master Collection, Steam, etc, etc. My C Partition for Windows 7 and another partition for Windows XP

So 3 partitions so I can open all my Applications/Files from any operating system

But I want to know if this will work and will it affect my PC performance, and also how much should I give each partition and how do you install a game?

you can partition your pc like that no problem.if your hard disk is say 320gb then give 50gb to win7 and 30 to xp and the rest to other drive. Do not make too many drives as each decrease your effective hdd space. But also consider that the a softwear or game installed in one os may not work in other.
