Do i have to change the gasket or water pump of my Chevrolet Astro 1991?
I did not notice that i had a problem with water pump gasket when i noticed that the temperature gauge pointed at maximum point but i had to drive for more than 5 kilometers with this situation . Then i stopped and found some burning smell ,then i added coolant and found every things were almost normal except that the water pump gasket has to be replaced .
Do i have to make some other changes?
with regards .

water pump gaskets normally dont go bad its usually the water pump. if it is the gasket change the water pump because you will have it off and it will fail eventually. so save time and do it now

Change your water pump, thermostat and upper and lower radiator hoses. Also, check the heater hoses for any soft spot and see if there are any visible signs of leakage from the radiator.

THE BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS GET A REPAIR MANUAL. IF YOU MUST DO IT YOURSELF. ALSO YOU MUST REPLACE THE........ WATER PUMP........ IT SHOULD COME WITH A GASKET.
