NFL Players accusing NFL of monopolizing?

Apparently the NFL Players Union representatives, ie. the players themselves, have been accusing the NFL owners of collaborating as a cartel, an illegal form of market monopolization.

Is it just everyone but the parties involved in these "discussions" who understand how dumb this entire thing is and has become? The NFL players were put on this earth to play football, not to negotiate and make unfounded legal accusations. What they fail to understand, the players, is that while the NFL may have a stranglehold on professional football in America, they're a part of a much larger market, and that is sports entertainment. They compete with the NBA, NCAA, MLB, NHL, and many other leagues for the largest share of the sports entertainment market. From that perspective, they are far from a monopoly. And, if you get even bigger picture, they're part of the entire entertainment market, which includes movies, music, etc.

Do you believe the NFL players would bring an argument this stupid to the table? Or are they right?

I believe the players are just grasping at straws at this point. They know they lost any leverage when the court ruled for a stay in the lockout. They know the owners hold the upperhand in anything they do now, but now they don't care, they're too stubborn and will keep fighting until they really start hurting in their paychecks. This could be over soon now however. If the players are smart, they'll know they have more to lose, than a bunch of multi-billionares who could pretty much end the NFL if they wanted to, but like I said they're too stubborn. You know they're desperate when they're saying something as idiotic as the NFL being a cartel, they obviously have never seen a real cartel. I'm just furious with both sides at this point. I could really care less if a bunch of billionaires and millionares lose money they can easily earn back, I'm not on one side or another, just rooting for whichever one has the upperhand and has the power to end this whole childish lockout.

Those players having too much of benefits so they did forget or tend to forget what they are.

Let make clear, if you call ones owners, then everyone works for them are workers, who get paid by the owners. Think about it as a master and slaves. You work then I feed you or you got fed, you must work for me.
