Please advise best way to clean silk ties.?
I have about 8 x nice silk ties..........Dry cleaning so expensive..any suggestions....Hand wash...machine ?.........Single bloke...treat as ignorant...!!!

Try your local Aldi they do a DIY dry-cleaning pack [pack of 3] from around £3

I have never successfully hand washed Silk Ties, I have ruined 2 but it might be worth a try by yourself but I agree because to be frank Dry cleaning works but at such an enormous charge for what is a small item.
The hardest part is ironing, perhaps if you lay them flat with a weight on top while they dry, under a tea towel that might work.
Do not under any circumstances wash in the washer, silk shirts work but only because they are a single thickness.
