Car donation to charity?
What is the best charity to donate a car to? I have a car with high mileage and has been wrecked but is still drivable. I wanted to donate it to the cancer society but they no longer accept cars. What is the best charity to donate an older car to? Children's Wish Foundation - I looked up and some say it is a scam. I want the sale of the car to go to the charity, all of it. I know that if they want me to leave the title blank, then I have to look for another. Thank you in advance for your kind advice.

If you go this route, the car will basically go to a wrecker, who will use it for salvage, either as scrap metal or parts. Only the very newest cars donated are resold. The wrecker gets to assess the value of the car, and that will generally be quite low, maybe a few hundred dollars.
To get maximum donation, sell the car yourself, either on craigslist, or to a wrecker directly. Then donate the cash to the charity of your choice.
