"The spiritual life is part of our biological life. It is the 'highest' part of it, but yet part of it." Y/N?

I read that in a book I was reading in transit earlier. It was written by Abraham Maslow, and is from the book entitled, _The Farther Reaches of Human Nature_. Do you agree or disagree / have any thoughts on this? I could ask this in psychology, but would get a different slant on it there. Trying here first.

Update:

To explain a bit further, the quote is in a book entitled, _What We May Be_, which is about something called psychosynthesis. In a nutshell, as I understand it, psychosynthesis has to do with integrating the many sides of one's personality, so that they work together and aren't self-contradictory. As for this quote, and its application in _What We May Be_, I'd say the idea is that the spiritual life has to do with the super-ego or "superconscious," which is another term the author uses. As I understand it, the idea is that when you have any of a variety of peak experiences or unusual inspiration, it could be that you are accessing the super-ego or superconscious, which is part of you having extraordinary ability to organize and clarify data (and other abilities), but normally inaccessible in ordinary consciousness.

i agree, its part of our biological life

whether its a seperate spiritual thing or not, i think biological spiritualty definately exists in our life, even if it was just the chemicals, it still affects us, and our mind frame can change drastically when we look at things in that way

I don't understand this claim. It doesn't make sense.

You're going to have to explain what "spiritual life" means and why it's necessary or enhancing for human biological function.
