There is something that hasn't been proven yet.

Maybe it was God that existed prior to the Big Bang, and God that created the matter that rapidly expanded into the Universe. That's what I believe, along with multiple MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, and Yale scientists.

Maybe it was just some unknown that hasn't been identified yet. That's what other people believe.

It just isn't known yet. But it will be someday.

Who said nothing existed before Big Bang?

The theory is that the entire matter/energy was compressed in one small object that exploded. The Universe is still expanding, but it is feasible to believe that at some point the expansion will stop and it will start to collapse again.

Nobody says that nothing existed before the big bang. It was the start of our universe in its present form.

If nothing existed before God, what caused him? See, you have the same problem either way. Sooner or later any reasonable person has to accept that something can come from nothing. Which when you think about it actually makes some amount of sense.

Perhaps all the things needed for the big bang has always existed...like the same way some people say God has always existed...

Why is it that people of faith somehow aren't concerned with the regression argument with their own deity? I mean it's ok to say "god has always been" and that's good enough, but can't grasp the concept of time beginning with the big bang?

And it did exactly that. I'm not talking about time as measuring on your computer clock, but as a dimension of the universe. You have to understand that time is an inherent property of the universe and it began with the big bang. Prior to the singularity, there is no time. There was no measurable sequence of events prior.

What came before god? We are 'too complex have been created by evolution, so we must have a creator', but then surely so is god, and so on to infinity. Either we have a lot of big old men up there getting bigger and older as we move further away, or its bull. The big bang, at least, is plausible.

No scientist ever said there was nothing before the big bang. We don't know the conditions before the big bang event, however, the answer is not "god did it" by default.

Science doesn't think nothing existed before the Big Bang.

We don't know the cause yet since it kinda trashed all the evidence. But it wasn't magic.

"...nothing existed before the big bang..."

The evidence we have shows energy "existed" in the singularity from which the big bang came.

We don't know yet what "caused" it. That means we don't know -- it doesn't mean a magical god for which there is no evidence any kind did it.

    Peace.
