What is your country's biggest accomplishment?

I'm from the remote Pacific island. So remote we only are known by our coordinates, and sadly, lack an official name. We have accomplished many great things thru our leader, Zbbbxxxwawaa tsiii. For example, we have gathered many coconuts. Our biggest accomplishment is pleasing weather God. Make hurricane go other way.

My country is the Republic of China or better known as Taiwan. We are a small country with 23 million citizens. Our biggest accomplishment is our very efficient single payer health care system. It is one of the top 5 in the world. Virtually no waiting times because of the fact that we don't have gate keepers unlike the UK or Canada. We basically cut the middle man. Also we are very technologically advanced so virtually no paper work in hospitals. Every citizen or legal resident has a smart health care. One swipe in any hospital and all your medical history comes on screen. There is a healthy mix of public and private doctors. Doctors can't get super rich which actually is a good thing; this attracts caring doctors and not money driven people. Doctors all compete with each other which drives up very high success rates. There is no such thing as private health insurance companies so it is very straight forward and very cheap. It is directly customers and doctors.

I don't mean to be flip, but I think the country itself is the biggest accomplishment. Some settlers came here and in only several centuries built a powerful, modern country that is remarkable in a hundred ways.

I live in a civilized society not a country.

I do not support nationalism, however if the country I currently lived in would disarm them selves of nuclear armament I might become willing to reconsider.

I think humanities biggest accomplishment is recorded history, science, the arts, as well as the continued existence of and improvement upon civilization.

And of course I commend the efforts of my countries government officials in their contributions towards that effort.

Living in Canada I think that my country's biggest accomplishment is their contribution to the peace keepers. I believe that although they are not in a perfect system they are a step in the right direction. :)

That's a hard question because this nation has done so much. It founded a system of government that most of the civilized world uses, it landed a man on the moon, it won both world wars and founded the U.N. It seems to me when you found a nation on the ideas of philosophers nothing is impossible.

Establishing a global military presence for the "protection" of other countries. Oh, and Imperialism.

I live within a country, but I have no country. I dislike the idea of nationalism.

I live in the United States. Best Accomplishment - Being the leader of the free world. Being the best place to live in the world.

I have an Indian Heritage. Best Accomplishment - Being the Birthplace of so many great spiritual leaders.
