How fast did you lose weight after birth?

I gained 37 pounds when I was pregnant with my son.

I was 120 lbs pre-pregnancy and was 157 when I delivered him - 8 days past my due date.

He was born 8 weeks ago and I am back down to 126 lbs - so another 6 pounds to go to my pre-pregnancy weight.

I am breast feeding so I realize that burns a lot of calories.

However I feel like I'm getting some negative feedback from people about it. I eat whatever I want, I'm not dieting at all, I'm not working out like crazy or anything. Yet people are commenting how much weight I lost already like its a bad thing.

Saying I'm losing weight to fast and I need to be careful??

I'm not sure if they think I'm doing something "unsafe" to lose weight - like not eating etc.

But thats not at ALL the case!

Even when I was pregnant I was very active the whole time, and though I gained quite a lot of weight it seemed to be all belly.

How soon did you lose weight? Is it really that "weird" to lose most of your baby weight in 2 months?

As far as I had always heard breast feeding burns a LOT of calories , so it would be normal to lose weight quicker right??

This sounds like such a cop-out answer, but every woman is totally different. Some breastfeeding women eat like horses and drop 15 pounds below their pre-pregnancy weight within a month and others lose almost none.

Women are very sensitive about their bodies, and I'm sure there is an element of jealousy when your friends/relatives/co-workers see that it just fell off of you, and they're still carrying 10-15 extra pounds around several years after their pregnancies. Unfortunately, some people deal with that resentment by making you feel like you're doing something wrong (which you aren't).

It sounds like you are doing great. Don't let other people make you 2nd guess yourself, everyone looses the weight differently.

With my 1st I gained 40lbs and lost 20lbs during the 1st 2weeks. Then it stalled out and I didn't loose more then 3 or 4 more lbs before I got pregnant again. With my 2nd pregnancy I gained 20 and lost it all in 10 days and am slowly loosing a few more lbs every week.

    Started out 120lbs

Gained 43lbs so I was 163lb when I gave birth

    Daughter weighed 6lb 13oz

I lost 15lbs the first week after I had her

    She's 5.5months now

I weighed 133lbs last Thursday at the dr.

I have 13lbs to go to get to my preprego weight

I figure it took 9 months to gain it so I'll give myself 9 months to lose it. I have 3.5 months to go and I know I can lose it.

I'm not dead set on getting back to 120lbs either. I'll be happy with 125lbs.

I've lost all my weight and then some. I so want to gain at least 10 lbs. I eat like a cow but I;m always so petite.

When I had my daughter at 21, I was back in my regular clothes. 8 years later it was a lot harder. Tell people you are eating healthy and taking it easy, you are just lucky.
