Where can I print photos with good quality?

I have Canon T1i and I have tried print photos from Target, Shutterfly and CVS. The pictures comes out with lines across from the printer, fuzzy, pixel and not crisp at all! Where should I go to print nice pictures for my scrapbooks and albums?

I am in the San Diego area.

It is time for you to use a REAL PRO photo lab. Mpix is one of the very best. Day and night difference from the crap spewed out from the other places you mentioned.

    http://www.mpix.com/

Now, I am going to make a statement, and don't take offense at it. No printer can make a bad original image into a good print. I am assuming you ARE uploading QUALITY files that are NOT fuzzy and pixelated. No matter how good or bad a printing service is, there should be no pixelation in the photo unless you are uploading a small, low resolution file and trying to get large prints.

Is your camera set to it's largest size / highest quality setting? Is your focus SHARP even when you view the photo at 100% on the COMPUTER, not the camera monitor. Everything looks good on the little camera monitor. Your computer is the real test of how good the quality truly is on your photos.

So again, Mpix is a far better print service than places like Target, but even a pro lab cannot make a quality print from a low quality file. Garbage in, garbage out.

But if you ARE supplying large, high quality files, then you will love the prints from Mpix.

Yes. The Epson printers are particularly good, however the ink is very expensive and it runs out very quickly therefore it's not really cost effective to print your own photos at home as yet. It is better or should I say cheaper to use an online printing service like Photobox to print your photos or to take them into a shop and print them. Printers for home use are okay for the odd photographs you want to print now and again for family members etc when you have no other option at short notice. I have a feeling though that a large majority of people no longer do much in the way of printing and instead just view photographs on modern computer displays, television displays, LCD photo frames and portable devices.

The best quality around is The Photo Touch http://www.thephototouch.com/ Their "standard" prints are glossy like most places (target, shutterfly, etc) but their premium are where they stand out. It is a satin paper (formerly known as matte), with some texture and the quality is the best I have seen from my pro lab tests.

I echo what Steve said about Mpix. I have enough confidence in Mpix that I have used their drop ship service (direct to the client) without fear. The customer gets the print(s) without me seeing it first. No problem. I send them good work and they return good work.

every place is different. they use different equipment, paper, inks etc.

if no one local has any recommendations then I would just print 1 4x6 and a bunch of various places to see which one has the best quality

You might try Chrome in San Diego.
