    S o m e o n e had to shove a crowbar between them!

  • The Gospels are ordered by the (erroneous) traditional ssumption of when they were written, Acts is one of a kind, a continuation of the Gospels without being a Gospel, the assumed Pauline Epistles (except for the suspect Pastoral Letters) are ordered by length (more or less, with the Corinthians and Thesalonian epistles ordered together), then the Pastoral Letters, then the catholic epistles, then the Revelation.

There really is no good rationale for this ordering other than ancient tradition based on the lies of Papias of Heiropolis.

First, you have the Gospels of Jesus Christ. In the Gospels, you read of the birth, life, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus. We read why God entered the world in the flesh. So, what happened after Jesus ascended to Heaven? Enter the book of Acts. Acts follows the birth of the church and the works of the early apostles and early Christians.

In the book of Acts we read about a Pharisee named Saul, of Tarsus. He hated the early Christians and actively persecuted them. While perusing some Christians on the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared to Saul. He was convicted for his persecution, then forgiven, and gifted by the Holy Spirit. He began preaching the good news of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles (then, the Greco-Roman world). We remember him today as the Apostle Paul. Paul was a missionary, and he established several churches. He wrote letters to the new believers and churches, and some of his epistles were canonized into the New Testament. Enter the epistles of Paul: Romans, 1st & 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thessalonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy, Philemon, and Titus.

    I hope this helps.

    Peace be with you.

EDIT: As someone else indicated, it is a continuation of one of the Gospels: The Gospel of Luke, and follows the early church after Christ's ascension.

Gospels are the "Manifestation" and the Book of Acts is the "Propagation (of the church)". The Book of Romans and the other Epistles are the "Explanation"). The Book of Revelation is the "Consumation".

This may help you understand the purposes behind the books of the NT.

Matt. to John tell the history of of Jesus while physically alive. Acts continues with Jesus' return after death until he rose to Heaven. And it continues with history. The following books are letters written from a certain person to certain people.

because acts is a continuation of the gospels while Romans is an epistle (or letter).

The four gospels (Matthew Mark Luke and John) basically tell the story of the Savior YAHUSHUA from 4 different points of view. Acts is the story of the early experiences of the followers of YAHUSHUA after His going back to heaven. Unfortunately, Luther put the following letters in the order he thought they should be in of importance, which violates their chronological order.

The Bible song dos not work otherwise. Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and the Romans, ....etc (It won't go with the tune)

becouse God hates alphabetical order so its anti-alpha.

I don't understand your question. What does it matter where it is?
