My desktop icons aren't showing up.?

The start bar does show up, though. And when I look at the desktop file in a folder, all my icons are in there. But not on the desktop itself.

I can't right-click the desktop.

I already went to the task manager and removed explorer.exe and started it up again. It didn't work. So I went to safe mode and restarted the internet from there. It still didn't help.

I just removed a virus from my computer just before this happened and had to use an online sweep during safe mode, and that got rid of the virus, but now I have the desktop problem.

I'm not sure what to do, and we don't have much money to spare for a repairman... So I was hoping someone here could help me?

Thank you, if you can!

Oh, one more thing. When I click 'Start->All Programs' It's empty... But they still work if I open them with 'run' or hunt them down in the folders.

Try system restore. Go to Safe Mode and it will give you the option to restore your computer to an earlier date. Choose a restore point when you still have your desktop icons and All Programs.
