dimples in coffee can seal?
The large 34.5 oz coffee cans have a heavy aluminum seal. This seal has dimples all over it. What is the purpose of these dimples AND scientifically how is that function performed?

no, not how they put the dimples in, but why these small dimples add strength.

The design adds strength to the aluminum. It's stamped into the metal with a big machine.
