Petrol strimmer cutting out - please help.?

Our petrol strimmer ticks over fine but as soon as the throttle is applied the engine cuts out. I'm sure there's a simple explanation, but just can't get my brain in gear (must be the warm weather lol).

Please could someone suggest what might be wrong and/or how to fix it ?

Sounds like a carburetor problem - not feeding enough fuel when the throttle is opened.

As with cars, petrol driven garden tools benefit from regular servicing. When was the last time you had this serviced? It could be something simple such as a blocked fuel line or dirty spark plug.or it could be something more serious. I would suggest taking it to your local service centre.
