Backup disk space in laptop filling up. Time for an external harddrive?

Getting the little warning from Windows that my Backup disk space is on RECOVERY and that it is almost full.

Should I go through the individual files and delete some of the stuff to clear up space or has the time finally come for me to get an external harddrive?

You should do both. You should always have a second copy of your important stuff and it's a good practice not to let your laptop's disk get more than about 80% full to allow space for your applications to build temporary files and so on.

There are some great external disks at good prices just now - the Seagate http://www.maplin.co.uk/1tb-freeagent-goflex-desk-... from Maplin at £55 is good value for a full size drive that you'd leave at home and connect to when you need to, and the Lacie External rugged is great for carrying about with you. http://www.awd-it.co.uk/scripts/prodview.asp?idpro...

maximum backups create extra then one backup. both by technique of doing finished on a daily basis backup or incremental on a daily basis backups. both way that is going to use extra disk area then the unique records being subsidized up. examine you backup settings. in case you in basic terms prefer to apply 235GB confirm you overwrite your on a daily basis backup.

Clearing up doesn't hurt, but perhaps if you get an external hard drive that wouldn't hurt as you will probably need it soon anyway - they are pretty cheap anyways.

    Hope that helped,

    Back up disc??

If it is data that you are baking up then you should have it also on another device. Like an Ext. HDD
