When you ask for new bands or songs...?

On the rare occassions I ask for new songs, I do tend to click the links.

I've only asked a couple times and it is because i genuinely wanted some new music. I found some great stuff aswell.

I usually give a list of things i listen to already so that people might know similar artists.

Lol no I only ever ask that question if I'm genuinely searching for new music. I'd use the youtube suggestions to find music but you can stumble upon tons of crap before you find a decent artist - thats why I like to ask the question, because I like to know other people will listen to them too :)

Basically you're asking if people ask about music just to confirm their own egocentric opinion that their taste in music is the best?

like asking a question "do you agree that (for example) Justin Bieber RULEZ!!!" (he doesn't)

It's probably a 50/50 of people genuinly wanting to find new music and others just wanting to make themselves feel more 'musically intelligent'.

I check the links, why else would i bother asking such a question?? haha
