When's the best month to have a connecticut beach wedding?
Hi everyone, I just recently got engaged last saturday May 28th. We plan on setting the date about 2 years from now. We have several venues in mind and the beach keeps screaming out at us. However, we dont want our guests to sweat bullets so what would be the best month for us to have a cool beach wedding without my makeup running down my face? Thanks :)

Check out what the weather typically is like! This site has excellent maps of climate. You can customize by month, location, and climate variable.

Weather along the Connecticut Shoreline can sometimes be hot one day and cool the next. However, I have planned two decades of parties consulting the Old Farmer's Almanac and it has NEVER failed me. The only thing about planning a wedding using that publication is that you can only get a calender years weather forecast at a time.
None the less, planning a beach wedding should always have a backup plan in the event of rain, just like any other event you would be planning outside. Many beaches have pavilions you can use for your reception after the beach wedding.
Rock Neck State Park in Niantic, CT has a pavilion you can have your reception under. So does Mc Cooks Beach in Niantic. The thing is that any beach location is going to have fees for parking, so keep that in mind. Ocean Beach in New London also has a great beach with the Port and Starboard Restaurant on the premises. Mystic, CT also has many options for you. Call the local chamber of commerce to get more beach information. Hammonasset State Park in Madison, CT is lovely.
The weather? The best cool beach weather in Connecticut is in June and September. July and August could be scorching hot as hell horrible heat waves one to two weeks out of those two months, like clock work every single year.

Because Connecticut is so much farther north than most beach venues, I would stick to summer. May would be gorgeous, but the temperature would be so iffy. I think late June or any time in August is your best bet. Go to some of the beaches during the times you are thinking (i.e. if you want to get married August 16th, go to the beach August 16th) now to get a feel for the weather.

Anytime during summer will be cool on the beach. In fact I'd say in CT you're limited to July or August because any other month would be too cool. I hate going to weddings in the cold, formalwear isn't designed for winter temps. It doesn't matter if it's too hot on your wedding day since most beach weddings are short, then everyone goes to the reception venue which has AC.

Weather is so unpredictable it can be hard to say. I think your best bet is Late September. July and August could be scorching in CT and you also have to consider how it can get very windy as well.
