Most young women can't name one branch of the US government. What happened to America?

It's interesting that this question originated in Australia, but your point is well taken. In fact I would venture to say many young American men don't know enough about the U.S. Government either. A few decades ago I was taking some music classes at a community college and one of the professors asked a class of about 25 students the day after an election how many of us had voted. I had and raised my hand. I was the only one out of the entire class who did. I thought that was rather sad.

One of my more devious and cynical friends was more politically aware than most, but rather than being saddened by the situation he would amuse himself by asking dumb girls who they were going to vote for. I must admit that the results were sometimes entertaining.

Why is this all coming down to women. Men aren't too genius either if you ask me. I don't think most American's could answer simple question about our country's history. I bet if you asked someone what the date (including the year) of when the Declaration of Independance was signed, they wouldn't know, boy or girl! Plus, who are these studies being done on? Teenagers? Of course any female teenager wants to be famous, and win America's Next Top Model, just like every male wants to play for a professional sports team, and win World's Strongest Man competition. What are you trying to say?

they are not allowing mass rape, they are trying to put a stop to it. Ask yourself this question do you know what is going on next door to you? NO. you do not know. Unless people come forward and say what is happening to them. In this case the victims should have said what was happening to them. And think that they do not want this to happen to any other person. In some countries women are treated as second class citizens This is true, but it is not just in some in Islam. It is in many countries around the world. And in most cases nothing to do with religion. We live in a very sick world.

That is what happens when a country idolizes the rich over the hard working and intelligent. No young person wants to become the inventor or writer because it is "not cool".

This is news? I think playing dumb about politics has been going on for a long time with American women. Seems American males aren't really comfortable with brainiac women. I don't know why, I just have lived it.
