Jehovah Witnesses, Honest Question?

I was raised in the truth but when it came time for me to make my own decisions I took the worldly path. I married a disfellowshipped witness that is also trying to get back into the truth. I will defend JWs til death do me part, I understand I have worldly ways that are really hard for me to abandon ie clubbing, profanity (not that hard), overly drinking. I attend about 2 meetings a week and my daughter has studies with her 5 cousins with my husbands mother everyday as she is a house wife.

I believe whole heartedly in the truth, but really wanted to know in your opinion (I know only GOD knows the answer to this but) do you think if Armageddon came tomorrow would I have a chance?

    It turns out that Armageddon isn't tomorrow. We still have the Great Trib. to get through. You've already expressed your true feelings and Jehovah knows them better than you even. I'm glad your making your way back. It was hard when I did it. I didn't make any real progress until o spoke with Elders. They are responsible for caring for flock. They can help you. Know that Jehovah is rocking the nations in order to bring all the desirable things into his organization.-Haggai 2:7 compare John 6:44

    There are many people out there that are like us. They need the truth too. So make the truth your own. If you can't explain it, you don't own it. Personal study makes preaching easy. If you want a pass to get through Armageddon, here it is:

    P = Prayer (Phil. 4:6-7)

    A = Association (1 Corinthians 15:33; Hebrews 10:24-25)

    S = Study (Acts 17:10; w08 15/9 12-15)

    S = Service (Matt.28:18-20; 1 Pet.1:13)

    If clubbing is a problem, stop associating with people who go.

    Research the truth about who is behind the music played at clubs & think about the association at clubs.

    You have damaged yourself and need spiritual healing.

    You are what you eat. This includes what you consume with your mind.

    Love what Jehovah Loves, Hate what Jehovah Hates.

    This all takes time.

    Watch the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know?" (don't take it all literally) pay attention to the science of our brains and how we can become addicted to our own personality.

    A study was done by mapping electrical current in the brain (not in movie). It concluded that when a person is being physically tortured the brain is firing in a pattern. The same pattern is firing when a person is trying to break a habit, like smoking, or doing something else they like.

    So taking off the old personality can be torture sometimes, but love for Jehovah can make it bearable. (James 4:7-10; Psa.55:22; 1 Peter 5:6-9)

    I think you can only answer that question. Only you know how you truly feel towards Jehovah. If you really want to get back into the truth than "trust in Jehovah with all your heart" - Proverbs 3:5

    Turn your back on all the worldly things. You still have time to change, remember "Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with You because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance." 2 Peter 3:9

    To be more accurate, Jesus is the Judge and the anointed are the Jury, Jehovah is the superlative ruler.

    If you are saved from destruction around the time of Armageddon it will be Jesus' doing, then when every one has passed the final test sometime after the 1000 years 'the reign of Christ' the earth with be perfect & perfect mankind will be subjected back to the supreme one 'JEHOVAH' and the Christ will also subject himself to his father.

    So if you love Jehovah push your self to do all you can now!

    Notice that Zephaniah 2:3 says: “Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah’s anger.”

    I understand...I had to cut off my 'party' friends because I wanted to really focus in the truth. I had to make some serious steps because I'm planning on getting baptized. Sometimes cutting bad habits from this world can be tough...especially if you've been in it for awhile. Remember this verse from 1st John...

    1 John 5:

    3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome,

    I always think of that verse to help me out sometimes. We are all imperfect people and God understands this. All that God wants from us is our effort and Jehovah God reads our hearts. As far as Armageddon goes, since God is a loving God, I think he would give you a chance and many others. In the end, it is up to only Jehovah God to decide.

  • On this subject, my opinion doesn't count for much.

    I did not have the benefit of being "raised in the truth" -- or better, raised around the truth.

    So, having to choose it for myself, perhaps I appreciate it all the more.

    Don't worry about Armageddon coming tomorrow. We may all die at any time.

    And if we have not been serving Jehovah while we have the time to do so, what does it say about our love and appreciation for all that He has done for us?

    The Scriptures say that "Jehovah is our Judge." (Isaiah 33:22) So it is not for humans to determine the eternal destinies of other people.

    But everything in the Bible does say this: If you love God, you will serve Him. Now.

    There is nothing out there in the world that is worth losing the chance for a loving personal relationship with Jehovah God and his Son, Jesus Christ.

    The "temporary enjoyment of sin" is just that -- temporary.

    we are not the judge, that is up to Jehovah God. remember Jehovah is very forgiving. I was not brought up in the truth. and I am only a witness 21 years next month. you should sit in with your daughter on the studies and go back to the meetings. you would make Jehovah's heart glad. to the one who said Jehovah Witnesses do not go to college, there are many that do go. we have doctors, lawyers, nurses and teachers.

    Of course....the bible says God evaluate honest heart...we have to try our best to fulfill his will.

    Exodus 12:38 And the sons of Israel proceeded to depart from Ram′e·ses for Suc′coth, to the number of six hundred thousand able-bodied men on foot, besides little ones.

    38 And a vast mixed company also went up with them, as well as flocks and herds, a very numerous stock of animals.

    39 And they began to bake the flour dough that they had brought

    in verse 38 And a vast mixed company also went up with them,the Jews left egypt ...the annoited nation..but also people who were not jews but followers were saved.

    Sorry hun, as aspected no one can give you the answer to that but the Almighty!

    What I CAN say is Jehovah is merciful, that he judges the heart and if you are sincerely doing your best you can count on his love and protection.

    Still hurry back, things are hotting up in the kitchen!

    PS if you or your husband were not at the 2009 district convention, the drama is well worth watching
