How do you move a box spring on and off a metal bed frame without ripping the fabric on the underside?

I don't know why moving the box spring should rip the fabric underside in the first place. If the metal frame is so tight that the fabric rips when you move it off the frame you will have to lift the whole frame off the floor enough to loosen the clamps that hold the frame together first. Once you spread the frame out a little bit you should be able to remove the box from the frame without damage..
