42 casement windows have wood rot?

Is there a way to remove the window and replace just the bottom wood piece on a crank window? I see the brackets attach at the top and bottom. Should I remove the winow at the brackets or is there a quick disconnect? There are 42 windows, the bottom frame piece is rotted all the way through. Wood bondo is out, I want to replace just the wood frame piece at the bottom.

Update:

If the installer had finished the job the windows would be fine. The wood was never primed then painted thus the rot. The seal around the window hid the unfinished wood when the window is closed.

Also, the siding has melted where the sun hit the glass when the window was opened.

I would have to see the window to be sure, but if it is possible to replace the sill [ without total window removal ], it would more than likely not be a good fix. The best and proper method would require the removal of the complete window unit for this type of repair. Regular maintenance, caulking and painting could have easily prevented this situation...

Nope, time for new windows. If the sill is entirely rotted, the rest of the window frame is likely badly damaged from rot as well.
