how much to charge for watching 2 kids?

hi I'm about to start sitting for my younger cousins for the summer. my aunt has said to let her know what i want per hour but i have no clue what is reasonable for a 7 and 9 yr olds. they'll be coming to my home during the day and fixing meals wont be too difficult since they'll be eating what my young children will be having but what is reasonable to charge or ask for for this age. it will likely be close to five days a week varied hours around 20-40 per week depending on her nursing schedule

$100 per week for both kids. Anything higher and she could just pay daycare. She gets a family discount.

If you feel $150 a week covers gas or trips to the movies, ice cream or any extra food and goods you might need to provide for these children, I think that's a fair price, rather than an hourly rate.

It's not so much the age of the children but the worth of your time and effort - both have value and you want to feel you're being compensated fairly for your help. No matter how good your relationship with your family member is, the last thing you want to experience is resentment because you asked for too little at the start. Ask for what you need (and what your time is worth).

If she only wants an hourly rate, I'd say 15 p/hr (or 20 if you're comfortable with that).

    Good luck!

Lets be honest at 7 and 9 they don't need much supervision they just need to have an adult present! SO that being said I think $10 a day for food should cover both kids lunch then another $20 a day for letting them spend the day at your house! SO $30 a day or $150 a week!
