Buying a car, difficult situation. Help please?
So i was looking at a 94 plymouth laser turbo that was on craigslist. I called the guy about the car several times but always got a message saying the phone had been disconnected. So i emailed the guy about the car with a phone number to contact me at. About a week later he texted me and said he still had the car. It was originally priced at $1000 because it needs some work, but the guy told me he got arrested under the wrong warrant for someone else, thats why his phone was disconnected, he was in jail. Supposedly someone stole his identity or something and he got arrested for something he didnt do. The car was impounded when he was first arrested, but he is out of jail now and doesnt have money to get the car out, since he has to get a lawyer and stuff. He lowered the price to $500 and said it would cost $400 to get it out of the impound lot. If it cost any more he would just subtract it from the $1000 he was originally asking. But i dont know anything about how impounding works. He has the title to the car and says its clean. So how do i go about getting the car? He said he would ride to the impound lot with me because they wont let me get the car out unless he is with me.
I really like this car and have big hopes for it, dont just blow it off and say get a job and get a nicer car or some stupid crap like that. I need help with this situation.
and i talked to him on the phone about it, he seemed like a nice guy.

Don't let your emotions get you wrapped up around a car. It happens to me, too. Everyone who likes cars does it. But this deal seems fishy... tell him to get the car to you and then you can talk about buying it. It could be a scam, you just don't know. Take it easy, and be safe please!

F no!!!! this is a scam for sure... No way all that crazy stuff will happen and if its a good car he would not let it go for 500.... there are some serious issues with it and someone came and looked at it and said nty, so he came up with a super story to deceive you.... it could even be a prank like on =dontevenreply.com...... go look at what that is and u might change ur mind about how legit this guy really is...

That is lovely noble of you. Your moms and dads raised you good. Yes I might take the present. I purchased a brand new vehicle final yr for 23000 bucks, and it wasn't convenient. Even despite the fact that I have a 45000 buck a yr revenue, it took someday to get all of the bureaucracy wanted to buy the vehicle. Its quality that you just stored 5k, it suggests that you've got accountability and area. You deserve a brand new vehicle, and no you're now not spoiled when you consider that of it.
