Do taxidermists give away bones?
I collect bones, and I use them to make jewelry out of, but I'm looking to diversify my collection. Do taxidermist usually give away or sell bones they don't need or want? I've heard that it depends on the shop/taxidermist, but I've never even been in a taxidermy shop, so I'm really not sure how they tend to work things.

I have gotten some nice specimens from taxidermists. They were all ones that he had not worked on and had been abandoned by the client.

Usually does depend on the shop and many work out of their home. I would also check meat packing plants, butchers and hunters to see if they will donate to you. Promise them a unique piece in exchange and some one might bite.
