Why has my cat gone off her nut?
She is 4 years old, we have had her 1 1/2 years, we got her from the SPCA , she is fixed and up until recently she has been a content and happy indoor cat.
About a month ago she started trying to get out and her desire to get out has increased. We live in an apartment with many cats outside.
When she does get out, she jumps the patio and goes and sits in the corner on the otherside by our bedroom window and meows.
She is incorrigible. She scratches at the door, she knows how to open it when we are out there.
She is driving us and herself crazy.
At times she will rest and sit on our laps and just chill, but most of the time she wants out.
Has anyone else experienced this or perhaps know what it may be?
PS, we have tried the squirt bottle...doesn't work.
Thanks.

Your cat may be in heat, because that happens even with fixed cats sometimes.
She may just see something outside and want to hunt it.
Cats can be very unpredictable sometimes. >.<
Maybe she wants to hunt something or wants to fight.
All cats are one quarter feral, remember that.
It hasn't happened to my cat, as mine is too young, but perhaps it's a time in a female cat's life where she feels most free.
Unless you've had multiple cats and this is the first cat doing such a thing....

Just like men and women, they lose interest and broaden one-of-a-kind pursuits as they grow older. I'd say to take a look at a few new toys and laser tips and take a look at to hold her distracted and good-exercised. She could simply be undeniable curious approximately the outside although. In that case, you'll be able to get a harness and deliver her external with that-it offers you manage and obstacles for her. Many cats hate it however a few adore it and desire to come back again in after quarter-hour or so. Some may even deliver you the harness to mention - howdy! Let's cross out and play! Good success.

I don't understand your question but I am
Assuming you are talking about her desire to
Go out?
When a feline gets a sniff of the outdoor they will do anything to be let out. Mine got out once and after that it was hell.
It goes like this
Bella: meow meow meow mee meeww meowwwwwwwwwwweeeee (and man let me tell you her meows her horribly loud)
Me: no you are not going out there! Get away from the door now!
I clap when ever she is by the door and yell away or no!
She walks away from the door and finds something to do inside.
Try everything you can to keep her indoor. It is much much safer for her. Ignore her meows when ever she goes to the door chase her away. Fill a can of coin and shake it. Put aluminum foil or spray citrus around the door they hate that stuff.
She will give up one day.
Luckly mine does not dare clawing at our doors and carpet.
Provide yours with indoor cat trees.
