In different countries what do they call?

I can remember as a kid my Mother talking to someone on the phone and saying I don't want to hear it "so & so" is a wash maid. As I got older I asked what a wash maid was. I was told it was a person who spread other peoples intimate and personal business. I am guessing unlike gossip which is mostly rumors gone wild? So in other countries what do they call there /your version of the wash maid? People who can't help but repeating someone else's personal business.

Update:

What do YOU call someone who can not help themselves from repeating other peoples personal affairs?

In the old days a 'wash maid' was someone (like a cleaning lady) who went to people's houses to do laundry and clean. Since they were hired help and not family they usually worked quietly while the family was around. Once they left work they would gossip about what went on in the places they worked. Many people gossip, but it's not a good thing. It hurts other people and causes problems for them. Most of the time it isn't 100% true but only a partial version of the truth. I only have experience with countries where English is spoken. Most of them use the terms 'wash-maids' or 'washer women'.
