Should I buy 2 video cards to SLI?
I'm looking into completing a mid level build and am curious about cost to benefit of a high end video card as opposed to two cheaper ones.
for example how would a nvidia GTX560 compare against two GT440?
I guess if I go with the single more expensive gpu then I can always add another at a later point in time, is there any other benefits/drawbacks that I'm missing?
would 2x GT440s perform better then one GTX560?

No, A GTX 560 will trash 2 x GT 440's. You would need 2 x GTS 450's to compete.

you are absolutely right..having a single high end gpu is any day better cuz in future it leaves you with possibility of adding another gpu of same model,so yes two gtx 560 will scale very well compared to two gt 440 and give lot more performance gain..remember crossfiring or sli needs motherboard support so its important that you know your motherboard compatiblity..and dont forget,it also requires more power so you need to upgrade your psu as well if its not enough

The performance would be more or less identicle.
SLI with 2 GTX480s however and you have a completely different story
