How much could I reasonably ask for this car?

I have an automatic '96 Pontiac Sunfire coupe that I bought 5 years ago under an R title. Power locks, but not power windows and windows are tinted. Has a Pioneer CD player and am/fm radio. Air conditioning works, but a new AC compressor will be needed.

It has some body damage ( A few scratches and dings and some rust spots below the door and on the side near the tail light) Has 193,000 miles on it, though it could be less since the engine might not be original. Recently passed state inspection- got two 2 front tires, 2 new struts ( one front, one rear), and new control arm bushings. About 3 years ago, a cracked head was replaced with a used one and has been working well ever since.

Gets about 25 mpg and starts up every time. Overall, it runs and drives great and still has some good pick up for its age. Has rarely failed me.

How much do you honestly think I could get for this car? I was going to reluctantly sell it for $400, but then someone told me they thought I could get something more like $1000. What do you think and why? Thanks in advance.

A car that is road ready (passed the state inspection) is going to be worth somewhere in the $750 - $1000 range depending on the buyer. I would advertise it for $1250 or best offer and take the first $800 in cash that you are offered.

i think you should try to sell it for 800-1000$, i think that beause its sounds like its mechanically sound if it passed an inspection. it has 2 new tires and struts and new control arm bushings. windows are tinted and it has a good cd player it sounds like it would be a good daily driver but not as good for long trips.

you always replace struts in pairs so this is worth a cent less than the other guy says as it could be dangerous to drive
