I hope you have left for the vet already ... but if you haven't, get your dog to the vet now, or he could die a very painful death. They can give him something to make him purge and put him on a drip. Take the rat poison with you so the vet can see exactly what poison and how much he has consumed (but obviously keep it out of reach of your dog). Remember rat poison is pioson to any animal and is a cruel death, even to rats, please don't use it. Your dog may be OK if he gets to the vet soon enough. Good luck.

I'm not going to be rude at all. Your dads dog should be just fine. He did all the right things and the vet did all the right things too. Now your dad has to get the rat poison out of the dogs reach. Hope he's back to him self by tomorrow.

Go to the vet. Maybe you shouldn't have been so negligent to leave rat poison around!

Well if you can't get your dog to a vet then try to dilute the poison by having your dog drink as much water as possible or if possible induce vomiting. Keep checking on his condition. Check to see if he gets lethargic or seems is in pain.

Emergency vet RIGHT NOW. And don't give me this BS about not having money. Put it on a credit card. Borrow money. Drop the dog off, and pick it up when you have the money.

EMERGENCY VET ASAP!!! CALL THEM NOW...YOUR DOG WILL DIE!!! Give your dog hydrogen peroxide to make it throw up the contents of its stomach IMMEDIATELY!!! Then take the dog to an emergency vet so they can give your dog Vitamin K and anything else she may need. Your dog will DIE if not treated IMMEDIATELY!! GET OFF THE COMPUTER, AND DO SOMETHING FAST!!!

First thing: BREATHE and calm down. You can't do this unless your calm. Now listen, your dog isn't going to die. Don't let them lay down or fall asleep. Don't let him drink or eat ANYTHING. Take him to a veterinary hospital. Look up on google and find the nearest one. It's going to take about 4 weeks of treatment for them to be cured. Go to the vet now.
