What do you think of this idea for a wedding table centerpiece?
Okay...so I am trying to create a wedding table centerpiece on a tight budget for centerpieces. Our caterer has said that she can provide us with votive candle holders (they are rounded - great shape - very cute) and square glass mirrors to go under the centerpiece. Also, our colors are purple and green and our flowers are hydrangeas. I thought of having three wine bottles with labels removed clustered over the mirror. One with our table number "labeled" on, one with a tapered candle and one with a single hydrangea...and have the votives scattered around. Our table cloths are ivory and we also have ivory chair covers and green bows for the chairs....so...what are your opinions?
To Alphabetty: Yes, I was kind of thinking the same thing about the green bottles also... Thanks for the tip on borrowing...honestly didn't think of it. :)

that could be really neat, especially if you could get green glass liquor bottles. It would add the the interest of the center pieces to have the glass a color and you could tie it in with your theme. I think i would do two with the candles to add balance to the table though, perhaps the one with the table number and the one with the flower in the center framed by the " candle stick" wine bottles.
Another option would be to scour around and see what you can borrow from friends for the day. I raided my mum's vase collection and added what she had to my own + some flea market finds and for $60 i have two candle sticks, three vases, and two votives ( I am decorating myself) for each table. I am also re-using some fabric i bought and never used to make like giant place mats to go under the vases and candle sticks.
Your idea is creative which is good for saving money, definitely don't rule borrowing out either!

Mirrors (oriental trading co) with a candle and a "corsage" of flowers around the balloon base.( try silk candle surrounds). A 4-6 inch ribbon down the center of the table will help make things look bigger (by giving them connection for the eye) if you need to limit the number of centerpieces.

I think that sounds great. Instead of bottles you could also get vases for $1 at dollartree.com. I used about 40 vases for my centerpieces last year and most were borrowed from other brides or given to me (they were all mismatched).
