Uses of the word "ambivalent"?

I want to get the word "ambivalent" into my dictionary. But I'm having trouble with it. I'm not sure how it's used in a sentence or exactly what it means. Help? Some examples in a sentence, if you can. Not dictionary examples, as I have already looked up the definition and read their examples.

Hello, well you didn't quite choose a frequently used word, then again, I guess that is the problem. Its most common use is when two sides feel right, but are conflicting eachother. A simple example I can give is:

"I remain ambivalent about the choices you gave me."

Personally, I'd rather use "disinterested" when a similar occasion occurs, but that's just me :)

    (don't confuse it with "uninterested").

    2. A feeling of loving and hating at the same time.

    1. Will I stay or will I go?

    2. I feel kinda ambivalent towards Marc today.

I'm ambivalent about your choice of colors. In other words I really don't care what colors you choose.
