My Yahoo Group was recently mis-categorized as adult. How can I get it restored to the original category?

My group, CuernAds, deals with advertisements related to goods and services offered to the residents of Cuernavaca, Mexico, there is no adult content. I have review all the messages, uploads, links, attachments, footers. there is no adult content.

I wrote to "Customer Care" four days ago and they have not responded. Any other suggestions?

I have 991 members and it's worked okay for 4 1/2 years. Do I have to move to Google Groups?

Update:

Hi camias52, I tried that. It doesn't let me edit the category. It seems that when Yahoo puts you in the Adult category, you aren't allowed to change it back.

I did get a response from "Customer Care" saying that they had moved my group from Adult to something else and that I would be able to edit the category. Not true. It's still under Adult and I am still not able to change it.

Update 3:

Hi Arwen, that is how I originally contacted Customer Care.

I submitted that form on Monday, they responded on Thursday, I wrote back that evening and by Friday afternoon my group had been re-categorised as "Other". It is still there so, it looks like the problem is solved, for now.

Customer Care warned me that there is a bug in the re-categorisation bot that scours the groups for porn. They are investigating.

I suspect that posting this question here on Yahoo Answers might have helped move things along, too.

Thanks to all!

Doug

Update 6:

Funny, this happened both times that I tried to submit updates; I click Preview then Edit then I get a page that says Yahoo Answers is unavailable. I click Back then Submit and see my update is duplicated.

Let's see what happens this time...

Update 7:

Once again, only 1 week after my group was moved out of the Adult category, it has been moved back to Adult.

I've emailed Customer Care. I'm still hoping for a solution to keep my group with Yahoo Groups,

Doug

You can try filling in the following form and send it to Yahoo:

    Hello,

You have to open main page of the group and to click 'management'. In the new window on the right go to the groups settings and click 'Description & Appearance'. You edit in the category your group.
