5-point Calvinists only, please: What is the gospel message that you present to unsaved people?

How do you get around saying "Jesus died for your sins"? As shown below, one of the key points of the gospel is Christ's atonement for "our" sins:

"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures." (1 Corinthians 15:3, ESV).

As a 5-point Calvinist, I believe that Scripture clearly teaches that Christ died to atone for the sins of the "elect" only. My conviction is that they are the "our" in the verse above. Isaiah 53:11 says, "Out of the anguish of his soul he shall see and be satisfied;by his knowledge shall the righteous one, my servant, make many to be accounted righteous, and he shall bear their iniquities." The Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth, clears the accounts of the elect and declares them righteous because He died on the cross for their sins, and theirs alone.

My concern is that I cannot with conviction say to a person, "Jesus died for YOU."

Specifically, what do you say when you preach the gospel to unsaved people?

Um...I'm sure you're sincere in your beliefs, but I confess I don't really understand them. Are you perhaps making it too complicated? If what you're saying confuses me and I've been a Christian for years, what do you think an unsaved person would make of it?

I don't know what a "5 point Calvinist" is, so I don't know whether I would agree or disagree with you. So maybe I shouldn't be answering this question...But my point is, the average person on the street is not a theologian, so I just try to present the gospel in a straightforward way.

If it bothers you to say, "Jesus died for YOU" because you're not sure that Jesus paid for everyone's sins or just for those of the elect (which seems to me to be a pretty moot point in all practicality), just say, "If you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, His sacrifice on the cross will pay for your sins in full, and you will be fully acceptable to God."

Don't get hung up on a minor point. If you witness to someone, and they accept Jesus, their sins are covered by His blood. That's what really matters: sharing the gospel message and praying for their hearts to be opened to receive it.

Does God give everyone election? No, obviously. "God did so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes on Him, shall not perish, but have eternal life." You believe that and so do I.

Well, how does someone believe in "Limited Atonement." Okay, are you saying that God's sacrifice could atone for the sins of the whole world? Yes, I believe that it could. What would that mean? It would mean that Hell would be empty, right? We see in Scripture that is not true. He will separate the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the chaff, etc, etc, etc.

What keeps them from coming, what makes them from reject such a glorious gift? They are dead spiritually, right? "You must be born again..." right? Okay, what makes the soul within you come alive if it is dead? The Holy Spirit, right? So if the Holy Spirit convicts your soul, He has chosen you, right? You did nothing to deserve it. There was nothing special about you to draw Him.

You CAN say with conviction to a person, "Jesus died for YOU." How do you know that person is not elect? It's not up to you to convert them, it is the work of the Holy Spirit. If He does not convict, you were responsible to give testimony only.

That testimony may only be as simple as a hello. A word of encouragement. An invitation to church. You do not ever know sometimes WHAT God wants you to do. He wants you to be obedient.

You could legitimately say to ANY person. For God's atonement is OPEN to any in the sense that God will not discriminate. He will choose, whom He will choose. IF they accept Him, you know they were elect. If they do not, they have not rejected you, but God.

    I'm not a Calvinist, but:

Revelation 7:9-10 - "After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb."

The people in that verse clearly fit the bill of "whomsoever believeth." Whomsoever = anyone who believes.

Since you don't know who is saved and who just doesn't know it yet, you can assume that Jesus died for everyone you meet...you just have to tell them about Christ first! No need to act as judge and jury like the Arminians do. Since salvation is predestined, you get to find the winners.

Now what's really tough is saying "God bless you" when He may not want to. Therefore it would be equally wrong to say the other phrase, when God may want to bless them instead.
