Andretti Autosports coming to Nascar?

In the Jayski link Nostradammit posted in his Carl/JGR question, I saw where Andretti Autosports is looking into Nascar, and indicated they may be in talks with Roush and Ford. Would this open another door for even more open wheel drivers and their fans, and how do you think the loyal Nascar community will take it? I've talked to some fans that see it as a good thing, and some that look at it as an invasion by open wheelers simply looking for that big Nascar paycheck, which is considerably bigger from what I understand.

I honestly could care less. Lets be honest there has only been a couple guys who came from open wheel racing that have even done anything in the last 10 years. Tony Stewart and Juan Montoya. So your right they will be looking for the big check. The thing is IRL racing, other than the Indy 500 is really struggling to draw crowds and veiwership.

Andretti Autosport should focus a bit more on their Indycar program. It's not too good at the moment. They can try and invade all they want, but they still have to make it in the race. That's not as easy as it looks.

I would not be surprised and this might explain why Danica Patrick has been so coy about what she is going to do next season. I definitely see her going to NASCAR at the CUP level soon and this would make sense. It would be really interesting to see this happen and fun to watch!
