It proves just how bad they have always been with money. Neither George nor Casey wanted to open the smelly trunk because they'd have to face that it was their fault that Caylee was killed. A body in the trunk means mob hit. George owed gambling debts and Casey was a thief. That is worse than killing either of them. The whole family has suffered and will continue to suffer because the most precious part of it is gone. Plus all the haters take attention away from finding the hit man.
