Using a Wireless 360 controller on PC?

I have wired and wireless,
on PC the wired one was plug and play( as soon as i plugged it in it automatically downloaded the driver for it)
I have the charger wire for my wireless pads that you can plug into the 360 and it will power the pad with or with out a battery in it,but for some reason my PC won't recognise the wireless one.
