First and foremost, wear a color that flatters you. And something that won't clash with the other wedding colors. Remember that you will be in some of those wedding photos. Pale blue that will harmonize with those dress blues. A pink that goes with the bridesmaids red. A nice gray or beige would be fine, too.

I think doing a reflective (not metallic, a softer version of it) neutral would work best. Platinum, or a soft gold/bronze. Or even a 'nude' /beige would be pretty.

Then dress it up with the mother of the bride corsage, preferably apple red flowers to draw everything together.

If you try to do a 'power' color, I'd suggest doing a shade of sage green. That will work with the red or military blues without competing.But depending on your complexion, green may or may not work for you.

If you enjoy wearing red, that would be a lovely compliment to the theme. You want to feel beautiful, since the photos of the day will be around for life.

If red is not your thing, then any Fall color that coordinates... and wearing a blue that goes with the Dress Blues would work as well. It sounds like a lovely wedding theme for that time of year. Congratulations to you and your family!

Pretty much any color would work that does not clash with her colors. That would include gold, champagne, yellow, any shade of green, a paler tint of the army blue (this would be really pretty, I think, and there's a whole palette to worth with from palest blue to sky blue). You'd avoid shades of red, cranberry, maroon and also navy or purple. Oh, and another option that might work is orange, if it's more towards the burnt orange or yellow orange tint. You don't want a reddish orange.

Basically, you want to avoid colors that "compete" with hers, or that look like you're trying to be part of the wedding party.
