please guide me how to increase dell laptop battery life?

i am having 15.6 inch dell laptop new,my battery life last for about 2 hours and 25 minutes.how i can increase it ,

    decrease brightness & volume to lowest and search software for this purpose..

    You can take it to an electronics expert who, with the right skills, can tamper through it and increase the battery life for at least 30 minutes. But this is highly inadvisable. What you should do is opt it out so it barely consumes energy once you're not hitting the buttons. Put a short time interval for the laptop to go to sleep mode, decrease the brightness of your screen, keep it away from the open sun, keep it within normal temperatures... Well, that's pretty much it.

    Battery life depends on the number of cells in the battery and the activities it has to support. Just playing songs, the battery would last much longer than if you are editing video while doing a virus scan and system backup. Battery age also plays a part.

    right click on the battery icon on the lower right of the screen and equalize the battery power. also u can upgrade to a new battery that last longer
