How do I prevent a bunion?
I have been told I have bunions starting.
I have never worn heels (well not in the past 3 years!) I wear either Toms or trainers. I get them fitted- I am a runner so always get things fitted. I also make sure I wear the correct support as I have a pronation.
In fact I have already seen an orthopedic doctor (about something else which turned out to be nothing to do with my feet!: shin splints!) and am have been wearing orthotic insoles which I was fitted for, for the past 4 months now. This bunion thing hasn't gotten any better infact has gotten worse!
I am not sure what I'm doing wrong: the trainers and shoes I wear are supportive (if not I wear the orthotic insoles), they are correctly fitted to make sure my toes are not being squeezed, I don't 'do' heels, I am at a loss as to why this is happening to me!
Anyone have any ideas??

Some people have an inherited disposition to develop bunions. Given that you generally wear well fitting shoes, this may be the case for you.
You speak of a number of co existing foot problems, so I would seek advice from a professional. There are simple remedies to help bunions but the potential interactions of the various problems need teasing out by a professional.
It can't do any harm to keep wearing weel fitting shoes and avoiding heels though.

Well i know that if you happen to be walking or running slightly bow legged or pigeon toed then it doesnt help
